’Front-Front-House’ at Jalan Jelita
residential, semi-detached

completed 2019
Jalan Jelita, Singapore
The property is bounded by Jalan Jelita along its front and the lush and green rail corridor along its rear. Set in this context, the design of the house is conceived as one without a ‘back’ which would traditionally hide various utilitarian activities of a dwelling house. Such supporting facilities are tucked towards a side and the rest of spaces in the house is designed to flow seamlessly from the front through the rear. The house comprises a basement with 3 upper levels which is vertically connected via a bright and airy courtyard. Interior spaces liberally borrow lush greenery from the rail corridor through walls of glass.
